Encouragement and a purpose (part one)

Encouragement it's like a drink of water to a thirsty man! What got me thinking this was a very encouraging e-mail that I got a couple weeks ago from a ministry leader at my local church. They brought to my mind (whether they meant to or not), just how important encouragement is.
So how about you, have you been traveling through dry valleys of discouragement? Are you in need of a little encouragement? Please take these following verses to heart and let them soak in. Genesis chapter 1 verse 27 says: "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." It's amazing to me to think, God made us in His own image.  In Luke chapter 12 verses 6 and 7 Jesus says: "Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don't be afraid ; you are worth more than many sparrows." The Bible is a great source of encouragement, a person should try to read some of it every day.
In his book "The Purpose Driven Life" Rick Warren writes: "You may be serving in obscurity in some small place, feeling unknown and unappreciated. Listen: God put you where you are for a purpose! He has every hair on your head numbered, and he knows your address." How cool is that!

Here are a couple of encouraging little rhymes that I like to keep in my mind.

Consider how significant,
wonderful and true.
The purposes God had in mind,
when He created you.

You're loved beyond measure,
by The One Who Is Sure And True,
You're loved way beyond measure my friend,
and every morning His compassion is new.

 Be encouraged.
